About us
A small studio with exacting standards
We make fused glass in Pedreña, on the edge of the bay, and teach it to anyone who would like to try.
The name
Why “Mar de Vidrio”
Mar de Vidrio means “sea of glass”: a sea so calm it looks like glass, which is exactly what the bay in front of the studio looks like on a windless morning. It is also what we make: glass, on the edge of the sea.
Who we are
Two partners, one standard
Raquel
Maker and founder
A fused-glass maker with twenty years spent leading technical and quality teams. That is where the studio's rule comes from: if a piece isn't perfect, it doesn't leave.
Patricia
Co-founder
A trained teacher, and the person who makes you feel at home the moment you walk through the door.
What matters to us
Three things we don't compromise on
Quality, no excuses
Anything that isn't right is discarded. We never sell a flawed piece.
Success from the first session
Arrive with no experience, leave having made something beautiful with your own hands.
